Our morning Math Circle session will focus on non-intuitive probablity explorations involving non-standard dice, followed by a discussion of the Common Core Mathematical Practices and problem-solving. Our afternoon sessions will consist of Mini-Math Circles. You will have your choice of sessions about Exploding Dots, Paper-folding, Liars Bingo, Problem-Solving, and others.

What did you miss at the first THREE Cincinnati Math Teacher Circles? You missed an exploration of a concrete representation of different number bases that was used to model polynomial division. You missed an opportunity to explore a mathematical card game that naturally led to question of probability and to a 4-dimensional geometry. You missed a mathematical investigation of tangled ropes that led to rational number computations. You missed rich discussions with passioned mathematics educators around the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics.
